The Global Talent Visa UK is designed to attract exceptional talent to the United Kingdom from around the world. Unlike traditional work visas, it does not require a job offer or employer sponsorship.
Applicants must either be endorsed by a recognized endorsing body in their field or have won a qualifying prestigious award. The visa lets you work, self-employ, or start a business in your field, without the restrictions of other UK work visas.

Applicants must qualify through one of two routes recognized by the UK Home Office:
- Secure an endorsement from an approved endorsing body for your field.
- Be the recipient of a prestigious award listed under the Global Talent Prizes.
Leadership or Promise
The visa focuses on individuals who have made significant contributions to their field, or show clear promise to do so:
- Recognized achievements at a high level, not general ability.
- Evidence of future leadership backed by references and impact.

Route 01
Endorsement
The most common route. You must be endorsed by an organization recognized by the UK government. The endorsing body assesses whether your work meets the required standards. Applies to science, digital technology, arts, and humanities.
Route 02
Prestigious Prize
If you have won one of the qualifying awards listed in Appendix Global Talent: Prestigious Prizes, you bypass the endorsement stage entirely. This route is faster, but only applies to individuals already recognized at an international level.
