The Lithuanian Migration Department (MIGRIS system) processes applications. We guide you through every step.
Acceptance Letter
Secure an acceptance letter from a recognized Lithuanian higher education institution to begin your application.
Documents Required
Online Application (MIGRIS)
Submit your visa application online via the MIGRIS portal, the primary tool for processing visas and residence applications.
VFS and Online Interview
Submit original documents with biometrics at VFS. The MIGRIS Department then conducts an online interview. No embassy visit required.
Processing and Fees
Visa or TRP processing takes 15 days up to 3 months. Fees vary by type and processing speed (standard or urgent).
Apply at least two months before your visa expiry or course start date. Applications can be submitted up to six months before the intended travel date.
Financial means and health insurance
Financial Requirements
Demonstrate sufficient funds via bank statements to cover tuition and living expenses, calculated using the standard 0.5 formula.
Health Insurance
Health insurance meeting Lithuanian standards, with coverage of at least EUR 30,000, is a mandatory document for your visa application.
